Back in April I had the great pleasure of modeling in a photoshoot styled by Zuriel Bautista and Jenn Lui. Both Bay Area based stylists, Zuriel also runs a blog and Jenn is the founder of Intwined. Jenn crafts beautiful bow ties for men and women that can be bought online or at a variety of store locations. Other pieces featured were provided by MENK, 31Rax, and Mister.

The shoot was shot by Duane Ramos and Derrik Tom of D&D Photography at Stern Grove. You might know Duane as Digga who spins regularly at 111 Minna Gallery for Shine, every third Saturday. The other models I worked with are Tricia Jang and Sean Harris. Tricia and her former roommate have created a line of eco-friendly candles called type.lites.

It was a great experience working with this group of folks. I didn’t really know what to expect since I didn’t know any of them expect for Zuriel, who I only knew through social media. After breaking the ice and getting our groove on, we were able to produce some great photos for all our respective portfolios. We followed up the shoot with a team dinner where we caught up, ate well, and finally got to see our work. I like to build relationships and establish friendships over the more typical name-dropping networking, so I’m grateful to have had the chance to meet these awesome folks. I look forward to working and kicking it with these crazies again soon! Asia, here we come!
